About the National Beef Cattle Genetic Evaluation Center

The National Genetic Evaluation Center for Beef Cattle (hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation Center) was founded in 2010. Entrusted by the National Animal Husbandry Station, it was established by the Cattle Genetics and Breeding Innovation Team of the Institute of Animal Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. At present, the Evaluation Center has 6 staff members, including 2 researchers, 2 assistant researchers and 2 research assistants. The dedicated computer room is equipped with 3 database servers and 1 web server. Meanwhile, the breeding‑data network platform of the National Genetic Evaluation Center for Beef Cattle has been built, forming an integrated management system covering collection, transmission, processing, analysis, storage and comprehensive application of evaluation data. Positioned as a national public‑welfare scientific and technological innovation research and service institution, the Evaluation Center is a specialized agency set up to meet the requirements of beef cattle breed registration, production‑performance test data collection and genetic evaluation of breeding cattle in China.
